Pharmacognosy is the study of plants or another possible source of drugs. It is the study of the physical, biochemical, chemical, and biological properties of drugs. Phytochemistry is the study of phytochemicals that describe the structures of a large number of primary and secondary and metabolic compounds found in plants. Plant synthesize photo chemicals for many reasons including to protect against insect attacks and diseases. They also exhibit several protective functions for human beings also.
